Earw 1330, Orm2 i440, 553 , 586 , Sheaf 3 18 ( 4291 ) , cf. Dunham Massey19infra , Castle Hill 29infra , Watch Hill infra . The site commands the ford at which ' Watling Street' 140 crosses R . Bollin , cf. NewBridge, Watlingford infra .
