Etymology

Tocil Ho is bosc. de Taselhulle , medwe de Tosall , Tosale 14thLegerBk , Toshale 1433Ct , Toashill c. 1840TA . It is tempting to associate this name with a lost OE  tāsel , a variant of tǣsel , 'teazle,' but it is very difficult to relate the later compounds to the first one.
