Parish in the County of Sussex
Etymology
Part of the parish within the manor of Barnhorne forms a detached portion of the Hundred of Battle, the part within the manor of Cooden formed part of the Hundred of Ninfield, while the manor of Pebsham formed a 'borgh' of Robertsbridge (J.E.R.). For the topography and history of the parish of Bexhill we are specially indebted to Mr J. E. Ray.
