Etymology

Limbury Fm (SY 454957), Limbury Farm 1839TA , Limburij (apparently sic) 1244Ass (p), Limbur [i ]1285 FA (p), Lymbury 1288Ass , 1405 AD I, 1456–1501Weld 2, Limbiry 1288Ass , Limbery 1535Weld 2, 1863 Hutch3, Lymbry 1608Brid . Either 'lime-tree hill or mound', from lind and beorg , cf. Limber PN L 2 219, Lymbury PN D 575, Limberrow PN Wo 215, or 'hill or mound where flax is grown' if the first el. is rather līn 'flax', cf. the identical Lymburgh's Fm in Marnhull par. 3 169.
