Etymology

'The booths, the herdsmen's shelters, the out-pastures', v. bōth .Booths was manorially divided into Knutsford Booths and Norbury Booths. Knutsford Booths is 'the part of Booths belonging to Knutsford; the higher town of Knutsford', v. bōth , uferra , cf. Knutsford 73supra , Norbury Booths infra .
