Adshead Green (101–868767), Adshead Green 1831 Bry, cf. Addeshed 1337Eyre (p)et freq , Addresheued 1361ib (p), Adsedd 1453Dow (p), The final el. is hēafod 'a head' or 'the top of something, a hill'. The first el. could be the OE  pers.n. Ēadhere . The place is close to Adder's Moss infra (v. mos ), which is probably related.
