, leʒ Crosse , the Crosse 1559, 1565GR 421,White Cros (s )1595Comm , 1655Bledisl , originally a cross on the Roman road south - west of Lydney , later a manor house dating from 1538 (Rudder 527) and subsequently demolished ; the cross was doubtless one of white stone .
