Thrup Fm is Thrope 1478, Thrope by Ramesbury 1498 AD i, and was the home of Reginald de Latrope (1166 RBE). 'Village,' v. þorp .Latrope contains the French definite article. Esthorpe juxta Remmesbury (1420FF ) perhaps refers to this place, since it lies to the east of Ramsbury.
