Etymology

Hesley, 1652, 1655 PR(Mrl), 1838TA , Haslow , Hasley 1666 PR(Mrl), Hasely 1673 Heslah 1799EnclA . 'Hazel glade or clearing', v. hæsel (hesli), lēah , but the second el. could be haugr 'hill'. Cf. Hazlegill (infra ).
