Etymology

'Skott's outlying farmstead', v. þorp . The pers.n. is the ON  byname Skottr 'the Scotsman', probably here a Viking who had been in Scotland or Ireland (cf. EPN ii, 113 s.v. Scott ). The spellings with Scoz - (which is an AN  spelling for Scots -) and Skots - are from the ON gen.sg. in -s .
