Etymology

Draxburgh (lost), Draxburgh 13Drax 14, 1405 YI, 1449 YD vi, Draxeburg 1234 FF, le Burghe 1463 YD viii, cf. also (le ) Burghlan (e )1352, 1401 YD vi. As in Skipsea Brough YE, OE  burh 'fortification' here refers to a post-Conquest castle, in this case one built by Philip de Talleville against King Stephen. The site is marked by Castle Hills south of the village.
