Etymology

Harborough Banks. Cf. Erdbyr '1220ReadingB , waste of Erbury 1343 AD iii, Little Herbury 1407 ib., Harbery Heathe 1586 AD v. There are the earthworks of a pre-Roman camp here, and the name goes back to OE  eorðburh . Cf. Arbury supra 79–80.
