Etymology
Biggen Holt (6″) is to be identified with the bidan holt in the boundaries of Washington (BCS 834). This is 'Bida 's wood,' v. holt . For the pers. name v. Bidlington supra 223. For interchange of d and g , cf. Bignam for Biddenham (PN BedsHu 26).
