Padgham Fm

Early-attested site in the Parish of Warbleton

Etymology

Padgham Fm, cf. Peggehamsgate 1520Ct . Possibly it took its name from Sampson de Pageham assessed in the Hundred of Battle (including Bucksteep) in 1296 (SR). He may have come from Pagham supra 92 and have pronounced his name with the more correct [dʒ].
