Etymology

'Deneca's valley,' v. cumb . Deneca would seem to be a derivative of the rare OE  pers. name Dene , Dæne . A strong form is found in Denchworth (Berks), Deneceswurð in BCS 1036.For the a -forms, v. Introd. xxvii.
