Saltmill (6″) is Lityl saltmyll 1460Rental . There is further evidence for salt-working in such names, as Salterns in Appledram, Saltham in Mundham infra 75. The salt was probably carried north over Salthill in this parish (cf. PN Wo 4 ff.).
