Etymology

A common forest term for a park or wood stocked with deer or other beasts of the chase and as a rule enclosed by a wall or hedge, v. Du  Cange, s. v. brolium . Cf. Broyle in Ringmer infra 355 and Brail (W), the Broyl of Bedewynd 1294 Ipm.
