Etymology

This manor is in Edivestone or Shiplake Hundred in DB and as the 1540 reference is the name of a tenement in Laughton, which is in that hundred, the identification is beyond question.It is from OE  stoccingahamm , 'ham(m) of the dwellers by the stocc (or stoc ).'
