Etymology

Knell House (6″) is la Cnelle in 1230 (FF), Knell in 1569 (SRS 3, 66), Knell al. Knoll in 1630 (SRS 14, 60). This is from a lost cnyll , a derivative of OE  cnoll. There is a tiny rise in the ground here. Similarly we have Knill (He), DBChenille , Nill Well (C), 1279 RH Knille (p), Kneela (D), 1304Ass la Knylle .
