Atherall's Fm is Atherolls in 1613FM , deriving from the family of Thomas Atherwold (1327 SR), the surname being spelt later Adelwald (1332 SR), Atholwold (1340 NI), Adderwolde (1546FM ), Aderall (1618FM ). It is clearly from the OE  pers. name Aeþelweald .
