Etymology

'Dunneca's farm,' v. tun . The strong form Dunnic is on record (v. Searle). For the curious development of stopped k to g and so to the continuant gh , w , cf. Cople PN BedsHu 90.The name is identical with Duncton infra 101, and there has been much confusion of the forms of the two names.
