Etymology

Croucher's Fm probably takes its name from the family of James Croucher (1704 SRS 12, 127). There was a Robert de Cruce i.e. ME  crouche here in 1296 (SR) but no trace of a Crouch (er ) family has been found in the intervening centuries (W.D.P.).See further s. n. Bridger's Pond supra 35.
