Etymology

Horsieland Fm (6″) is La Horseie 1241Ass , atte Horseheye 1311 FF (p), atte Horseye 1317 FF (p), atte Horssee 1332 SR (p), Horsey lande 1576 SAC vi. 'Horse eg or marsh land.' The land is a later addition. Cf. Horsley down supra 32 and Horsey and Horse Eye (PN Sx 430, 444).
