Little London (6″) is le North Worthe 1584, Northworth al. lytle London 1647Ct , Little London 1680 Seller. v. worþ . The later name was no doubt originally of humorous origin, referring to a settlement which grew very rapidly. Cf. Little London (PN Sx 255 and PN Nth 44, 103).
