Wasborough (lost), Werkesbury 1182RBB , Werkeborwe 1299 ib, Warborawe 1632Asht 36, Wasboroughs 1839TA . 'Weorc's fortification', v. burh . The OE pers.n. Weorc is not recorded, but a variant Wyrc is found in Worsborough (YW i, 292). The TA map (13/104, field nos. 1099, 1618) puts the place at grid point 155–545827.
