Ridley Hall is Retleiam 1086 DB, Redleg (e )1202 FF, 1254Ass , Redleigh 1385 BM, Rilleg '1251CottCh , Radelegh 1374 Cl, Radleyhall 1522FF , 1594 N, Ridley Hall alias Radley Hall 1648 Deeds. Possibly 'red wood or clearing' (v. read , leah ), but the soil itself is not red, as we understand that colour.
