Etymology

Shrubs is terram Roberti de Schrobbes (1297For ), Scro(u)bbysgrene (1439Bodl ), Shrubbys in Boyffeld (1442Rental ). Here lived Matthew de Shrobbe (1254Ass ), and John in the Schrobbes , Shrubbes (1327SR ). The name may be local in origin, as we have mention of le Shrubbe in 1534 (MinAcct ). For Boyffeld , v.
