Etymology
Perry Spring (6″) may owe its name to the family of Thomas Perrye who held a croft called le Downes in 1622 and Downes late Thomas Perryes land in 1655, or it may be connected with Perryfeild (1622Rental ). In that case, it is local and goes back to pirige , 'pear-tree.'
