Kitchen Hall is Kechen (e )hall (e )1327SR , 1347 Ipm, Kychenhalle 1442 IpmR, Ketchinghall 1582Ct , Kechin-hall 1768 M. It probably represents the estate in Harlow which was appropriated to the maintenance of the kitchen of the Abbots of Bury St Edmunds (M ii, 483–4).
