Etymology

Coker's Frome (Fm) (SY 698914), Coker 's Frome 1774 Hutch1, named from the family of John Coker 1433, Robert Coker 1484 Hutch3; it was called East Froome Whitfield 1607 Clegg, the farme of East Froome 1641Ilch (to distinguish it from Frome Whitfield infra to which manor it once belonged), and Culls Frome 1811 OS (cf. Colliton Ho in Dorchester par. supra ).
