Woodmill (lost), Wodemulle (in Merswde )13 AD I, la Wodemull (e ), le Wodemull (e )1325 AD VI, 1364Weld 2, 1376AD , (la ) Wodemill (e )1344 AD II, 1388 ib I, (la ) Wodemill (e ) in Merswodevale 1438 ib I, Wodemylle 1441 ib Iet freq to 1505Weld 2, Wodemyl (l )e in Merchwode Vale 1465 ib VI, Wodmyll 1479 ib I, 'mill made of wood' or perhaps rather 'mill in or beside a wood', v. wudu , myln , Marshwood Vale infra . In 1325 AD VI it is said to be at Neweheye (also lost), but if the early name survives in the f.n. Wooden Mill 1843TA its location would have been in the E of the par. on R. Char (at about SY 435981).
