'Tȳdre's farm', from an OE  pers. by-name Tȳdre and -ing-, tūn.For the pers.n. see Tytherington Gl 3 xi, 19–20, W 168, Tytherton W 91–2, and DEPN s.nn. Tytherington may be meant by the form Cudynton iuxta Macclesfield 52supra .
