, ye Pinakell l16 Hutch3, Old Harry rock 1765 Tayl, the Pinnacle or Old Harry 1774 Hutch1 , the largest of two sea - stacks of chalk ( v. foll. ) at the tip of the Foreland or Handfast Point supra , from pinnacle ' any natural peaked formation ' ( NED sense 2 ) , cf . The Pinnacles infra , and old harry , a familiar name for the devil , cf. Old Nick's Grd infra which is nearby and Devil's Den supra with their similar allusions ; it probably gave name to Harry Warren Ho supra .
