Etymology

Copt Heath is le Coppe 1353WAM , Cophethe 1498 KnowleG, Copheth side 1591LRMB , Coppeheathe 1600 ParReg and was probably the home of Roger de la Coppe (1247Ass ) and Henry atte Coppe (1315 ib.). This is the OE  copp , 'top, summit.'
