Etymology
Slaughter Bridge (6″). It is difficult to be sure whether we have any reference to this place but it may be that the road over it is referred to as the via de la Slouhtre in 1279 (Ass 915 m 21d).It was in the hundred of Easewrithe. For the interpretation v. Slaughterford infra 177.
