Etymology

Halland [hɔˑl lænd] is Hollond 1375 IpmR, Hallond 1376 Cl, IpmR, Hawland 1565–81 SAC 39, 105, Hallandes 1580 SRS 3, 145, Halland al. Holland 1585 BM. Richard ate Halle of Lullington acquired lands in East Hoathly in 1343: these included lands afterwards called Hall Land (1533Add ) (L.F.S.).
