Ladyshaw Bottom (6″), Laddeschawebothme 1306 Ass (p), Ladesshawbothome 1549 FF, Ladshawbothom 1564 ib, Ladyshawe Bothom 1641DuLaSC . Perhaps 'Ladda's copse', v. sceaga , to which botm 'valley' was added. For the pers.n. cf. Ladgate, Ladhill Beck (PN NRY 158, 203) and Tengvik 256–7.
