This is not mentioned in Domesday and is first noted as wapentaci de Pecko 1208 Pat, wapentacum de Alto Pecco 1219 Fees, wapentachium de Alto Pecco 1242–3 ib, wapentagium regis de Alto Pecco 1252 Cl, wap ' de Peck '1276 RH, wapentagium Altus Peccus 1302 FA, hundredo de Pecco 1306 Ass, wapentak de Alto Pecco 1329 IpmR. It takes its name from that of the district, v. Peak supra 1.

It appears as Blakewell ' wapentaco 1195 P, Blakewellewapentaco 1196 ChancR, Blakewell ' wapentaco 1197 P, from Blackwell infra 46 and as wapentac de Bauchull '1199 P, from Bakewell infra 30.

An earlier name for part of the hundred was As (e )lakesto(u)wapentagio , As (e )lakesto (u )wapentacum 1179, 1185, 1186, 1202 P, Hatelakestowapentagio 1188 ib. 'Aslak's place of assembly', v. stōw ; the first element being a Scand pers.n. ON  Áslákr , ODan  Aslak . A hybrid p.n. of this type is particularly noteworthy in the north-west of the county.
