The ancient parish of Rostherne comprised 1. High Legh, 2. Mere, 3. Millington, 4. Rostherne, 5. Tabley Superior, 6. Tatton, and also parts of Agden and Bollington 42, 43supra , and the parochial chapelries of Knutsford and Over Peover 72, 82infra . DB mentions a church under High Legh, but none at Rostherne. The parish church is located at Rostherne before 1188, v. Orm2 i429.
