Etymology

, Gosemere 1331Banco , cf. Gosemer sych 1349Deed , Goosemoor Sitch 1838TA , ' alake for geese ' , v. gōs , mere 1 , with sīc , Gosmoor Common 1833 O , Gorsemoor Heath 1775 Yates , the latter form probably being incorrect and due to confusion , since the 1331 and 1349 forms show that we are dealing with mere 1 and not mōr 1 , the subsequent corruption is understandable .
