Cf. Pardshaw (Cu), Perdeshau (1203) and Perdeley (1300 Wigorn), also Pirdiswelle (W) in BCS 672. It is possible there was a pers. name Perd (i ) a pet-form for Peohtrǣd . If so, the name may mean 'Perdi's stream,' v. wielle .
