Etymology

Hursted Fm is Hursteeds Close 1630 WIpm and was the home of John de la Houstede (1281Ct ), William de Hustede (1284 RegMalm) and Nicholas de Hustede (t. Ed 3For ). This must be the OE  hūsstede , 'site of a house.'
