Etymology

Flisteridge Wood is Flusrige c. 1250 RegMalm, boscus de Flusrugge c. 1270 ib., c. 1400Malm , Flusrigge 1284 RegMalm.The first part of the name would seem to be OE  flīes , 'fleece.'Possibly used of a hill where the sheep bore good fleeces.
