Etymology

For further forms see Chedglow Hundred supra 53 and note Chegge berwe , Chegge berge (RegMalm) in the neighbourhood. The second element is clearly hlaw , 'barrow.' The first must remain uncertain in view of the absence of good and consistent early forms.
