Isurium, 'lσούριου c. 150 Ptolemy, Isurium , Isubrigantum 4 AntIt, the name of the Roman station by the R. Ure, with which name Ekwall thinks it is connected etymologically (v. RNs. s.v.). Many remains of Roman occupation have been found locally.
