Foulmire Fen (6″). Cf. Fulmere (s )(lode )1251ElyCouch , 1277Ely , 1298Ct , ffoul (e )merelode 1405–51Ct , 15thEly , Folmere ib. Either 'foul, muddy mere' (v. fūl ) or identical with Fowlmere supra 83 and so 'wild-birds' mere,' v. fugol .
