Etymology

Hockham Fm (6″) is Notekynes formerly Hoccombes 1414 AD iii, Hockham 1601 SRS 14, 54 and gave name to John de Occumbe (1296 SR), Alan de Occumbe (1327 SR) and John de Hoccumbe (1345Ct ). It probably goes back to OE  Hoccancumb , 'Hocca 's cumb.' Huckham (D), Hoccumbe , Hokcumbe 1238Ass , perhaps has a similar history.
