Creep Wood is Crepe 1208 FF, 1296 SR (p), Crepe 1402, 1422 Asm , Crope 1340 NI (p), land called Crepe 1614 SRS 14, 138.Creep Wood is on the side of a deep and narrow valley and Professor Ekwall suggests that it is from an OE  crȳpe , crīepe , 'corner' or the like, the simplex of the word crȳpel , crīepel , 'narrow passage,' discussed in PN Wo 21.
