Etymology

'Bodeca 's tun,' the name Bodeca being a derivative of the OE  pers. name Boda . A strong form of this name is found in Bottisham (C), DBBodechessham , and a weak form in Butleigh (So), Budecalechy Bodecanleighe BCS 142, 300. For the ME forms cf. Duncton infra 101 and Donnington supra 69.
