High Loxley is Lokesleye 1279Ass (p), Loxelegh 1316 FF, Loxlegh 1332 SR, Loxlee 1344 FF (all p), Hyloxley 1584, High Loxley 1600FF . Probably 'Locc 's clearing,' v. leah . Cf. Loxbeare (PN D 540) and Loxwood (PN Sx 134).
